There are seven states that will grant full teaching license reciprocity to anyone holding a Kentucky teaching certificate; these states are Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, and Oklahoma. These states have full reciprocity by state statute, but some may have other requirements. Arizona, for example, requires a comparable valid certificate.

There are other possibilities outside of these states, however. Kentucky is a member of NASDTEC, which ensures partial reciprocity between states which have signed the NASDTEC Interstate Agreement. The only states who are not part of the NASDTEC agreement are New Mexico, New York, and South Dakota. This partial reciprocity means that participating states will grant some sort of authorization to teaching license holders in other participating states, although it more than likely will not be full licensure. It does, however, make it easier to obtain full licensure and makes the requirements for doing so more clear.
