Answer:

According to PayScale, the average salary for a dental sales representative was $40,695 a year, as of October 2020. However, this rate can be influenced by several different factors, which means that they could make as low as $20,000 a year, or earn as much as $81,000 annually. What can impact this figure is the level of experience that a dental sales rep has, along with their education, the company, city, and state that they work in, and whether or not they are earning commission on top of their set salary. All of this can impact how much a sales rep can earn, and it is no different when they are working within the dental industry. When it comes to professional experience, most dental sales reps will not surpass the average until they have at least 5 years of experience behind them, and they will typically earn $59k a year after 10 years of experience, and pass $70k annually once they surpass the 20-year mark. Location can also play a large role in how much a dental sales rep can expect to make, and three examples of this are: San Diego, where the average is 60% higher than the national rate, along with Los Angeles and Atlanta, where their salaries are 23%-27% above the average.
