Answer:
Becoming a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) takes from 6 to 8 years. This will depend on the educational path you choose to undergo. The first step is to become a registered nurse. To do this, you can get an associate's degree in nursing (ADN), which takes two years to complete, or a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN), which takes four. After completing your undergraduate nursing degree, you will need to take and pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Passing this exam will enable you to start working as a registered nurse. You will need to acquire around 2 years of pediatric-related work experience in a healthcare facility. This will prepare you to undergo a master's or doctoral program in nursing with a pediatrics concentration. These programs take from 1 to 3 years to complete. After you get your master's or doctoral degree, you will be eligible for the CPNP certification.
