Pathway Description:

Grand Canyon University's Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Public Health (Bridge) pathway explores the nurse's role in health care, foundations for nursing practice, nursing practice competencies, and integrating spirituality into practice. Students have the opportunity to study applied statistics for health care, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and the analysis and utilization of nursing and health care research. The pathway examines health care policy and finance in the United States, public health administration and finance, cultural and behavioral factors that impact health populations, and health promotion and disease prevention for culturally and economically diverse communities. Additional coursework includes the pathophysiological processes of disease, environmental elements that impact community health and safety, biostatistics evaluation and interpretation, and epidemiology. Students must complete an evidenced-based capstone project proposal and an 80-hour supervised practicum.
