Answer:
In order to become a pilot in the military, you do not necessarily have to have a specific degree. You do have to have a bachelor's degree from a four year college or university. Pilots come from many different majors. It is more important to have a high academic standing in your class, no matter what major you have chosen. Grade Point Average (GPA) is one way that the military screens applicants for pilot training. Pilot training slots are very competitive, and the best way to secure one would be to graduate from either the Air Force or Naval academy in good academic standing. For most people seeking a pilot slot, they will have to be part of a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program at their university or college. It does not matter what type of degree you are seeking in order to be in ROTC, but slots for pilot training out of ROTC are very competitive. Something that may help a person get into pilot training is already having a private pilot's license and flight time experience prior to applying for a pilot slot in the military. This is especially true for those who are seeking a slot through ROTC.
