How hard is dental school?

Dental school is hard, demanding and competitive but the rewards after gradation are satisfying and lucrative!

Dental school is unlike undergraduate programs in pre-dentistry in many ways, but mostly because of the perseverance required for the classes. The curriculum at dental schools does not allow for easier or lighter days, so the hurried pace can feel heavy and overwhelming to many students that have not yet learned how to properly manage their time. The program is fast paced in order to prepare students for the rapidly demanding careers of dentists. Students must be prepared to face their schoolwork with honesty, humility, and humor, in other words, a student must already be well on their way to becoming a professional while attending dental school. Hard classes include but are not limited to anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, oral pathology and oral histology. The last two years of dental school generally consist of challenging clinical hours. Dental school is difficult, but your instructors and counselors make up your success team and are there to help students succeed.
