Question:
How do you become a certified home health aide in Michigan?
Perfect School Search
Answer:
Home health aide regulations vary from state to state. Anyone can become a home health aide even without a degree or formal educational background as long as the state's regulations are met. Fortunately, the state of Michigan does not require any training and certifications for you to work as a home health aide, unlike in other states. However, if you wish to apply to a Medicare/Medicaid-certified agency, you must fulfill the federal minimum requirement for the job. To get hired, you must complete 75 hours of training wherein a 16-hour clinical training is achieved. A 12-hour continuing education is also required every year. The job outlook for home health aides in Michigan is promising since the state is with one of the highest baby boomer populations in the United States.
