Answer:

To obtain Act 235 Certification, you must be at least 18 years old and have no criminal offenses which would disqualify you from applying. The next step in the process to becoming certified is to complete an online application and submit a $50 credit card payment. You will then receive an email with instructions to schedule a fingerprint session, and you will be required to have a physical and psychological exam conducted by licensed physicians at your own expense. Once all of the required steps have been completed, you will then receive either an approval or denial to begin Act 235 training at a certified school. At the completion of Act 235 training, you will be required to submit a credit card payment of $30 for the certification fee. Once certified, you will be allowed to carry a firearm or other lethal weapons on the job as an armed police officer in the state of Pennsylvania.
