Perfect School Search
Answer:
Typically parole officers will hold a bachelor's degree, however it is entirely possible to become a parole officer with an associate degree. Degrees in criminal justice, sociology and social work are common. In addition to getting a degree, parole officers are required to complete background checks and pass a certification exam, which will vary between different localities. Finally, all job applicants will have to complete a training program, in order to secure a position as a parole officer.
According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2019 parole officers and correctional treatment specialists, on average, earned a yearly salary of $54,290 and $26.10 per hour.
