Yes, a biology major can absolutely become a doctor! In fact, having a background in biology and the biological sciences, in general, will be quite helpful in the long run if medical school is the goal. This has less to do with making an application more attractive to admissions committees though, and more to do with the fact that the first two years of medical school are very heavy in terms of classroom and textbook learning, so already having a background in biology will make getting through this first phase a little bit easier. That being said, it is important to mention that having a biology degree, or one relating to the biological sciences at all, is not a requirement for applying to medical school further down the line. Admissions committees are far less concerned with an applicant's area of study than they are with whether they have the necessary prerequisite courses and how strong their overall application and supplemental documents are.
