About Glendale Career College
Founded in 1946 as the Glendale Business College, Glendale Career College is a private college located less than 15 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. With a main campus located in Glendale, California, the college offers certificate programs in several health-related fields. Glendale Career College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training.
Academics
Glendale Career College offers programs in five fields that include surgical technology, medical assisting, vocational nursing, medical office managing and administration and central service instrument technology. The college's nursing program was the most popular, as of 2012. Some programs require students to participate in externships or clinical settings.
Student services available at Glendale Career College include career services, the Student Advising Services Program (SASP), GED tutoring and a learning resource system. The SASP provides services such as academic advising, testing and tutoring.
In addition to the school's main campus on North Brand Boulevard, the school has a separate classroom location on South Glendale Avenue. Nevada Career Institute is the school's Las Vegas branch campus.
Admissions
Glendale Career College has an open admissions policy. In order to apply to Glendale Career College, prospective students can email, call or submit an online form on the school's website. The applicant will then meet with an admissions representative for an interview and a tour of the school before submitting an application. The application fee is $75, as of the 2011-2012 academic year.
Additionally, some programs may require evaluations. Some programs at Glendale Career College accept applicants who do not have a high school diploma or GED. Approximately 360 students attended Glendale Career College in 2011.
