Answer:
There are many great reasons to become a prosthodontist. It is a rewarding way to help people who have severe or complex dental problems look and feel better. A prosthodontist diagnoses and treats different types of dental conditions and fits patients with prostheses such as dentures or other types of devices to correct these issues. Missing teeth can be painful and make it difficult to eat properly, and having this corrected can have a positive effect on the patient's overall health and wellbeing.
Prosthodontists earn good salaries, as they are performing specialized work that requires a four-year dental degree, a residency for up to six years, and a license in the state where they work. The mean wage for a prosthodontist working in a dental office, as of May 2020, is $107.36 per hour or $223,310 per year. The Bureau of Labor Statistics lists this career as one of the top ten highest paying in the United States.
