Answer:

Schenectady County Community College (SCCC) in Schenectady, New York is the place to study to become an air traffic controller. The program is called Air Traffic Control A.A.S. (Associate Applied Science). This program was developed to fill a local and national need for qualified air traffic controllers. There are four admission requirements that applicants have to meet, one of which is that you have to be a United States citizen.

When you're enrolled in the program, there are three things you have to prepare for, one of them being the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Control Tower Operator written exam. You also have to prepare for the Schenectady Airport FAA Facility Rating and the FAA Traffic Aptitude Test (AT-SAT) entrance exam to the FAA ATC Training Facility in Oklahoma City, Okla. There is also an age restriction of 18 - 31 years of age to take the entrance exam which will allow you to work in FAA control towers.
