What is an NCCER electrician certification?

The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) is a non-for-profit educational foundation. The NCCER offers over 70 accredited evaluations in over 70 skilled areas. These accredited evaluations provide a known standard of skill and knowledge across the trades and craftsmanship industries. Examples of jobs which benefit from the NCCER accreditation programs include welders, electricians, crane operators, project managers, and power line workers.

The NCCER offers four levels of comprehensive certificate training in the field of electrical work. To complete each of the four levels, the student will have to successfully complete the required course materials through an accredited training sponsor, pass an NCCER exam, and a performance test. Once successfully completed, the student will receive a transcript, certificate, and wallet card. These documents can be presented to an employer to provide training credentials. To enroll in an NCCER electrician certificate, the student must register with the NCCER Registry. Through the registry system, employers are able to verify the credentials and certifications of an employee that are on record.
