Question:
How much do court reporters make in California?
Perfect School Search
Answer:
According to Salary.com, a Court Reporter working in California can earn between $32,238 and $103,602 a year. The median annual rate is $65,156 annually (October 2020). However, Salary.com states that the majority of court reporters will earn between the 25th and 75th percentiles, which narrows down the earning scale to $47,011 to $85,280 a year. It is also important to keep in mind that these figures are representing gross income, so the net earnings will be different. It also does not account for a court reporters ability to earn extra income through working overtime or bonuses. The location in California is also relevant because the average salary for a court reporter will not be the same in every city and town within California, and it can especially vary between rural and urban centers.
