Answer:

IB teacher certification requires certain requirements to be fulfilled. One of these requirements is to hold at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, as well as a valid teaching certification/license. Certain subject area expertise (possessing a bachelor's degree in a certain field, like math or science, and three years of classroom experience) can also qualify a candidate for IB teacher certification eligibility. Once these prerequisites are met, candidates will need to enroll in an International Baccalaureate teaching certification program. As of 2012, there are only sixteen colleges and universities in the world, and only six in the United States, that offer the training and education programs necessary to obtain IB teacher certifications. Some of these institutions do make their programs available online for those who wish to obtain certification but are unable to attend one of these institutions in-person. For example, DePaul University offers their International Baccalaureate Teaching & Learning Certificate program of study completely online through asynchronous class sessions. Bethel University, California State University San Marcos, and University of Windsor also offer their IB teaching certification programs online, as well.
