Frontier Derm Partners is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, but it has locations throughout Oregon. This skincare provider has been around since 2006 and offers one of the best dermatology residencies in the Pacific Northwest.
The dermatology program started in 2012 and boasts a 100% board certification rate, meaning all of its residents have passed certification and gone on to work as dermatologists.
In this residency, most student rotations and other training take place in Willamette Valley, Oregon. Students begin training with patients from the first day of their residency and also have opportunities to participate in research, lectures, and other academic areas.
The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. It is small and highly competitive, with just one to two new residents selected each year.

2. Oregon Health and Science University
This public healthcare university is located in Portland and runs two hospitals there, though it also has other locations throughout the state. It offers a variety of advanced medical degrees and programs, including a dermatology residency.
This school's dermatology residency is fully accredited and lasts for three years. Students work clinical rotations in both inpatient and outpatient settings, participate in conferences and lectures, and have opportunities to lead their own research projects.
This program is an excellent, larger alternative to the Frontier program discussed above. The Oregon Health and Science residency admits five new residents per year. Skills and training build on what was learned each previous year.

3. Samaritan Health Services
Samaritan Health Services has its headquarters in Corvallis but consists of five hospitals found throughout Oregon. This large network of medical centers offers a dermatology residency for graduating medical students.
Residents of this program participate in extensive clinicals as well as classroom settings, allowing students to gain a diverse skillset. Daily and weekly lectures are held to reinforce what students learn in the field, and conferences further expand upon this knowledge.
The program is fully accredited. This residency program strongly focuses on surgical dermatology topics such as Mohs microscopic surgery and other types of cutaneous surgery.
