Program Prerequisites:
Applicants to the University of Phoenix Master of Health Administration/Education program should have already earned a bachelor's degree and a minimum equivalent of three years of full-time, post-high school professional work experience, within the past ten years, of which one year must be in a health care environment. Students who have an undergraduate Health Care degree do not need the one year of health care work experience for admission. If the student does not have one year of health care work experience or an undergraduate degree in health care, the student may be eligible for the bridge version of this program. Applicants to this program are nursing and heath care professionals who plan to find work in service or educational settings. Prior teaching experience is not required; however, educators are also encouraged to apply to the Master of Health Administration - Education program.
Program Description:
Students enrolled in the University of Phoenix Master of Health Administration/Education program have the opportunity to learn how areas like finance, technology, and economics can relate to health care. Students also receive instruction in the global health-care system and learn how health-care systems are evolving. The Education specialization is designed for students with a health-care background who would like to become educators; current educators can also apply to the program and may learn new strategies for creating effective instruction. Topics of study include financial management for the health care industry, health care delivery systems, and curriculum design. This program does not prepare students for teacher licensure.
