Program Description:

Sanford-Brown's Diploma in Medical Billing and Coding program is designed to teach students about data abstracting, billing practices and systems, health record maintenance, coding and reimbursement systems, and healthcare computer applications. An externship is required and is offered toward the end of a student's enrollment. The diploma program is also offered during the evenings for students who have work commitments and cannot attend day classes.

The certificate program consists of 45 credits and 900 contact hours. A medical billing and coding externship is completed towards the end of the program and consists of 4 credits and 180 contact hours.
