Program Description:

Students who select the Poetry track of Saint Leo University's Master of Arts in Creative Writing program could unlock their creative process in the artform of verse. Students are asked to study the great poets and writers the language has produced, attend lectures by practicing artists and writers, and produce a critical analysis of other people's work. Some classes offer traditional training in the theory and technique of poetry, while others allow students to workshop their original works with mentors and other students in the program. In the end, students will produce a master thesis; a 48- to 64-page collection of poetry that they will be asked to market in the real world.
