Penn Foster College's Veterinary Technician Associate Degree Program is great for those looking to earn a degree online from the comfort of their own home. This program has full accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Association's (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) which means graduates of the program are able to sit for the VTNE examination. It includes a diverse curriculum of online courses ranging from introductory biology, math, and psychology to animal anatomy and clinical pathology. Additional topics addressed in the coursework include surgical equipment, anesthesia, veterinary parasitology, animal nutrition, large animal medicine, and veterinary surgical nursing. The program also requires two clinical externships where students gain hands-on experience in an approved veterinary clinic or hospital.
