Pathway Description:
Students who enroll in the Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Health Informatics (Bridge) pathway have the chance to review skills in client examination, history taking, cultural sensitivity and patient care. They'll have the opportunity to examine methods for community health promotion and disease prevention, particularly with at-risk populations. Within the specialization area, they'll have the chance to learn about computer practices, technologies and systems utilized in health care settings for administrative decision making, communications, recordkeeping, reporting and security. Courses are designed to develop learners' abilities to think critically, interpret and implement research findings and analyze statistical data. Prior to completing the series, students will have the opportunity to consider, assess, analyze and propose an original, research-based solution to an issue affecting nursing health informatics.
