Program Description:
The Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program at Grand Canyon University is a continuing professional education program for active teachers who want to further their experience and knowledge of English as a Second Language (ESL) and working in diverse classrooms. Students in this program will have the opportunity to learn about the diverse and multi-cultural classroom by studying linguistics, curriculum development, second language acquisition, TESOL theories and concepts, and the ethical teaching principles defined by Christianity. For hands-on learning, each student is also required to participate in a practicum consisting of 110 hours of working with bilingual and English language learner students.
