Program Prerequisites:

Students who wish to apply to ECPI University's Associate of Science in Massage Therapy program must have a high school diploma or GED and earn a passing score on ECPI University's admissions test prior to admission. Applicants must also submit to a background check.

Program Description:

The Associate of Applied Science in Massage Therapy program at ECPI University introduces students to medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, musculoskeletal anatomy, and pathophysiology. Students can study Swedish massage, kinesiology, medical massage, and various Eastern modalities of therapy. The program also examines professional ethics, business practices, and spa administration for the message therapist professional. Students have the opportunity to gain clinical experience through hands-on work with physicians, chiropractors, and physical therapists in an externship course. The program is intended to prepare students for the National Certification Exam offered through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Body Work.
