Program Description:

The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology program is designed to teach students foundational methods for working with culturally diverse patients. Students will have the opportunity to learn techniques for leading individual as well as small and large group counseling sessions. They'll also have the chance to fine-tune their professional listening, communication, assessment, and intervention skills.

In order to successfully complete the program, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA, complete at least 600 hours of field work (usually lasting 9-12 months), and pass a clinical competency examination. Those desiring to continue working toward Argosy University's Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology may be able to apply some of the credits they earn in the master's degree program toward the doctoral course requirements.
