About DeVry University
Founded in 1931 with an emphasis on technological studies, DeVry University expanded, adding undergraduate degree programs and eventually online study options in 1998. With more than 40 locations and 100% online studies offered in many programs, DeVry University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), with programmatic accreditation from, among others, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET), or the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
In keeping with its roots, DeVry offers various programs in the area of technology; these include bachelor's degrees in computer information systems with various specializations such as database management and software programming; engineering technology; information technology and networking with specializations including cybersecurity and cloud based networking and virtualization. Bachelor's and master's are offered in network and communications management, while undergraduate certificates can be earned in cloud computing, data mining and analytics, cyber security, information technology essentials, networking essentials, programming essentials, and web and mobile application development. Programs can be taken in business, accounting, communications, justice administration, multimedia design, and website design and development.
Accreditation Statement
DeVry University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), www.hlcommission.org. The University's Keller Graduate School of Management is included in this accreditation. In addition to DeVry's status as an accredited university, some programs have additional accreditation. Several DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management programs have achieved voluntary accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP, www.acbsp.org), demonstrating that they have met standards of business education that promote teaching excellence, including the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program, Bachelor of Science in Technical Management degree program, Master of Business Administration, Master of Human Resource Management, Master of Project Management, Master of Public Administration, Master of Information Systems Management and Master of Network & Communications Management. The following online programs are accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET (ETAC of ABET), www.abet.org: Baccalaureate Engineering Technology. The following programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM), www.cahiim.org: Associate in Health Information Technology: Online and the Baccalaureate in Technical Management with Health Information Management Specialty: Online.
Keller Graduate School of Management
Graduate degree and certificate programs in accounting, business, and technology are offered through DeVry's Keller Graduate School of Management, which was founded in 1973 and which DeVry University merged with in 2002. This includes a hybrid or fully online MBA, which offers a fast-track 10-course option* and ten specializations in such areas as entrepreneurship, human resources, marketing, and project management. Other master's-level studies contained at the Keller Graduate School of management include programs in business, technology and health services management. The School also offers a Graduate Certificate in CPA Exam Preparation.
* Students attending certain DeVry locations are not eligible for course waivers based on undergraduate coursework; however, such students are eligible for course waivers based on graduate/professional degrees or CPA certifications. Students attending a Missouri location may be awarded waivers for no more than 25% of the program's credit hours.
