The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates that employment for appraisers and assessors of real estate will grow 7 percent from 2018 to 2028, about the same as the national average for all occupations, but employment for real estate brokers and sales agents is only expected to grow 7 percent, which is the average growth rate for all occupations.

As of May 2019, real estate agents earned a median annual income of $48,930 per year, while the median wage was $59,720 per year for real estate brokers and $57,010 per year for appraisers and assessors of real estate.
