Founded in 1891, Drexel University is a private, not-for-profit institution. The research university serves more than 23,200 students per year and offers more than 200 degree programs at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. Nine academic colleges and four schools make up Drexel. The Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design offers over 20 undergraduate and graduate degree programs that are intended to prepare students for careers in fields such as animation, graphic design and digital media. Among the offerings is a bachelor's degree in interactive digital media and a master's degree in digital media, both of which offer Web design studies.
In the Bachelor of Science in Interactive Digital Media program, students can explore creative Web design methods. Topics in digital content management are covered, and students learn to design mobile games and create Internet applications. Other courses cover Web services and systems, digital design tools, digital storytelling and production technologies. The Master of Science in Digital Media program is presented through classroom instruction, seminars and workshops and provides students with the opportunity to take courses addressing advanced animation and web content development.
