Medical diagnostic and treatment raining programs are available at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Some programs allow students to specialize, or at least have courses in, a type of procedure such as computed tomography, fluoroscopy, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and sonography, as well as traditional X-rays.

The Oregon Institute of Technology, Ball State University and Carroll University offer undergraduate programs in the field. Students at the University of North Carolina can earn a bachelor's or master's degree.
Not only are these schools considered reputable by U.S. News & World Report but they offer programs with small class sizes, flexible schedules and/or report high passing rates on the certification exam.
Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, OR

The institute offers several degree programs in medical imaging technology. Students can choose from Bachelor of Science programs in nuclear medicine or vascular technology, diagnostic medical sonography, echocardiography or radiologic science. Graduates in many of these programs achieve a high passing rate on professional certification exams.
University of North Carolina (UNC) in Chapel Hill, NC

This university includes a School of Medicine, through which students in the Division of Radiologic Science can earn a Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging. Additional programs include a Master of Radiologic Science for radiologist assistants and a radiography certificate.
Carroll University in Waukesha, WI

This university offers a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in diagnostic medical sonography. This program is offered in partnership with Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. After two years at each school, graduates receive a certificate in diagnostic medical sonography and a bachelor's degree.
Ball State University in Muncie, IN

Ball State University offers an Associate in Science in Radiography. In addition to online and on-campus courses, students get hands-on clinical training at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and Hendricks Regional Health Hospital in Danville. The program takes at least 26 months to complete. Upon graduation, graduates will have accumulated the necessary training to apply for the national certification examination from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
