Georgia State University was founded in 1913 and offers degree programs in over 100 different fields of study.. Approximately 34,000 students were enrolled at Georgia State during the fall semester of 2019. The Department of Psychology is part of the College of Arts and Sciences, which is one of six colleges at Georgia State. Psychology students can join the Georgia State chapter of Psi Chi, a national honor society for psychology students.

Undergraduate students can select between pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
