The University of Houston's 667-acre main campus is located in downtown Houston. The university offers more than 100 undergraduate, 200 master's and 45 doctoral degree programs. Aspiring electrical and electronic engineering students can pursue degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
University of Houston's Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program requires 25 credit hours of math, physics and chemistry, as well as 70 credit hours in electrical engineering. The Master of Electrical Engineering focuses on systems operations, engineering design, manufacturing and management. Students complete 36 credit hours. The Master of Science in Electrical Engineering consists of 30 credit hours of study, including nine hours of researching and writing a thesis. It focuses on advanced research skills and project management.
The Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering program is available to students with a bachelor's or master's degree. Students with a bachelor's degree simultaneously complete coursework for a master's and doctoral degree. The program consists of 84 credit hours, split evenly between courses and a dissertation.
