There are about five schools in the Houston area offering degrees in CAD drafting and design, though most are for-profit institutions. Based on program offerings, tuition and rankings, the following school is among the best in the area for programs in CAD:

Houston Community College has six campuses in the Houston area. This 2-year public college awards certificates and associate's degrees. The Drafting and Design Engineering Technology Department at HCC provides training in drafting and design, including CAD training. This department exists in four of the six HCC campuses: the Northeast College, Northwest College, Southeast College and Southwest College.
The department offers an Associate of Applied Science in Drafting and Design Engineering Technology, with concentrations in general computer-aided design drafting, civil design, architectural drafting, electro-mechanical design or piping design drafting. Students can also choose to earn a Certificate in Computer-Aided Drafting with specializations in general drafting, architectural drafting, civil and structural drafting, electro-mechanical design or piping design.
