University of Maryland - College Park
Located in College Park between the metropolitan communities of Washington D.C. and Baltimore, this school is Maryland's first established public university. Towson University is Maryland's second largest university. The Towson campus is eight miles north of Baltimore in a 328-acre suburban setting. The teaching programs prepare students for state certification. Graduation requirements include classroom learning and fieldwork. In addition to several bachelor's degree programs, this school offers a specialized certification program for aspiring teachers who already hold a bachelor's degree, as well as a master's degree program intended for working teachers seeking an expansion of skills and career advancement.
