Individuals who are interested in earning a degree in project management face limited options in the New York City area; however, there are several schools that offer degree programs with relevant coursework. Pace University
Pace University dates back to 1906, and the school enrolls more than 13,000 students annually. The school has a wide variety of undergraduate majors, as well as master's and doctoral degree programs in education, law, business and more. The university's Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems offers a bachelor's degree program in information technology that requires coursework in project management.
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
This program includes hands-on projects that help students apply the technical knowledge learned in the classroom to real-world problem solving. This program requires the completion of 120 credits with core courses in mathematics and an introduction to information technology, as well as major coursework in information management, project management, database programming and data analysis. A capstone experience is also required, which takes the form of either a project or an internship in the field.
Stevens Institute of Technology
Stevens Institute of Technology is a private, research university located just outside of New York City in nearby Hoboken, New Jersey. A graduate program featuring project management coursework is available at the institute's Wesley J. Howe School of Technology Management.
Master of Science in Enterprise Project Management
This master's degree program was introduced at Stevens Institute of Technology in 2012 and focuses on project planning and leadership in the field. Students in the program take 30 credits of courses in topics like strategic perspectives and project management.
