If you're a military student, either currently active or honorably discharged from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard or Reserves, you probably know that there are financial grant opportunities out there. But with the new Post-9/11 GI Bill, these options are different than they once were, and figuring out what's available to you can be difficult. The education section of the site is just one of several, but it is thorough. Using the education section of, you can find information including how much school funding you qualify for using the GI Bill calculator. Additionally, you can search for programs with Veterans Assistance (VA) approval, sign up for an informative newsletter and get tips for success. You can also search for scholarships and find out if any programs you're interested in offer class credit for service time.

The education section of helps you find schools in your area. Using the information request widget, you can fill in your zip code and find matches in your area for specific areas of study. These subjects include nursing, education, law and justice, business, psychology and technology. In addition to selecting a subject, you can choose what degree level you're interested in, including both undergraduate and graduate programs. The site may help connect you with a distance learning program that you can complete no matter where you're stationed.


An official offshoot of the U.S. Army website, GoArmyEd is a resource specifically for Soldiers and veterans. If you are currently serving active duty with, or are a veteran of the Army, National Guard or Army Reserve, this is a one-stop site to help you find schools, learn about what grants and funding you can receive, manage records and get tips for integrating school into your schedule. The site isn't just for Soldiers, though: Army Education Counselors can refer to the site for information, and schools can use the site to list course offerings.
