In the state of Missouri, there are a number of universities that offer online MBA programs. Students who are interested in enrolling in one of these programs can learn about five of their options in greater detail below, as aspects of each program will be highlighted, including curriculum information, any unique attributes, and admissions standards.

Overview of Online MBA Programs in Missouri

Missouri State University

One option for students is the online MBA program at Missouri State University, which can be completed entirely online. Students in this program are required to have completed 18 credits of foundational level courses, which may be waived depending on the student's previous academic career. The MBA curriculum is comprised of a total of 33 credit hours, 24 of which are core course requirements. The remaining nine credits are completed through one seminar course and two elective courses. Depending on the electives that students select, it may also be possible for them to earn a graduate certificate in tandem with their MBA degree. Some certificate options include forensic accounting, leadership, and international business.

University of Missouri

Another option is the online Executive MBA program offered by the University of Missouri, which requires the completion of 48 credit hours over the course of 21 months. The courses are designed to be completed online in eight-week segments and every student in the program completes the same courses, as the curriculum is standard for all students. While the curriculum is available online, there are some in-person components: students are required to travel to campus four times per year as well as complete one international residency, in which students will take a nine-day trip to two different locations around the world.

Northwest Missouri State University

The online MBA program at Northwest State University can be completed in between 12 and 18 months and offers students the ability to specialize their studies according to their interests and career goals. Students can pursue the general management track, the human resource management track, or the marketing track, all of which require the completion of the same 24 credit hours of core courses. The remaining nine credits of the required 33 total are then organized according to the track that the student has selected. This program offers students the opportunity to begin at six different points throughout the year, an attractive feature for individuals who don't want to follow the standard academic calendar.

Missouri Western State University

Students who enroll in the MBA program at Missouri Western State University can complete the program entirely online. This program requires the completion of a total of 30 credit hours, which are split among 10 courses. Each course can be completed in an eight-week session and students are allowed to take up to two classes at once, making it possible to complete the entire program in only 12 months. In terms of curriculum, seven of the required 10 courses are part of the core MFA courses, while the remaining three classes cover related topics in ethics and leadership.

Missouri Baptist University

The online MBA program at Missouri Baptist University offers students yet another option in the state of Missouri. In this program, students must complete a total of 36 credits hours, 27 of which are part of the required core curriculum, which covers topics in international business, accounting, economics, and marketing. Students can then select two elective courses to earn six credit hours. The final three hours are earned through the completion of a capstone project, which students will complete under the advisement of a faculty member. The program is designed to be completed in between 12 and 24 months, depending at the pace in which students decide to take courses.

Admissions Standards for Online MBA Programs in Missouri

When applying to online MBA programs in Missouri, students will need to provide admissions committees with information about themselves in order to be considered. Generally, this includes submitting a complete application file that includes past academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and a professional CV or resume. MBA programs also often require that students have taken the GRE or GMAT in order to submit their results, though this requirement may vary by program. Additionally, some of these programs may be intended for working professionals who already have some experience, so students will want to research each program in greater detail to make sure it is the right fit for them.

In summary of the above information, students in Missouri can choose from at least five different online MBA programs, each of which provides students with advanced instruction in a number of key business concepts like finance, management, ethics, and leadership.
