Career Information for People Who Are Introverted

Museum Technicians and Conservators

Museum technicians and conservators have a lot of job duties. They are expected to acquire, clean, catalog and display new objects. They could be in charge of display designs and creating themes for exhibits. Other duties that are ideal for introverts include maintaining accurate records of the facility's acquisitions as well as studying and examining pieces in a laboratory setting. Museum technicians need a bachelor's degree.

Biological Technicians

Biological technicians need a bachelor's degree in biology or a biology-related field. These professionals may work in teams with biologists in medical or research laboratories gathering various samples for testing like blood, urine, food or bacteria. Biological techs run digital equipment and keep this equipment well maintained. They write reports of all findings and may be required to do some research work as well. The significant time spent in labs make this career well-suited to introverts.

Multimedia Artists and Animators

Introverts who love to spend time on their computers creating fantasy worlds or drawing 3D characters may find rewarding work as multimedia artists. Video gaming is a billion dollar worldwide business. Video artists spend significant time coding and creating characters, plots, layouts and backgrounds for games, thus the career is appealing to introverts who may prefer the company of a computer over a large group of people. These multimedia positions require a bachelor's degree.

Accountants and Auditors

People who are good with numbers may enjoy work analyzing accounting information. Accountants use accounting methods to examine a company's or individual's financial statements. They work on tax returns and tax statements, and they maintain all these financial records. Many accountants work independently, which is ideal for introverts. Typically, accountants need a bachelor's degree to start. Certified public accountants (CPAs), however, must pass a state's certification exam.

Geological and Petroleum Technicians

For introverts who also enjoy nature, they may consider work in the petroleum field. Petroleum technicians may work in the collection and testing of rocks, soil or water. They setup labs and run the equipment used in testing. They analyze results and prepare reports. Technicians do follow-up testing as well as monitor work, wells, and new data. Introverts may enjoy this field due to the significant time spent collecting and analyzing data, which is often completed independently. Petroleum technicians start with an associate's degree or two years of training in applied science or in science technology.
