Brookhaven College

To enroll in this program, students must have American Heart Association CPR certification and meet the program's math, reading and writing standards. Students will also be required to pass a criminal background check and drug screening to participate in some of the core classes.

Emergency Medical Services - Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Certificate

The program is delivered through classroom instruction, lab practice and supervised field experiences. Students will also be required to pass a criminal background check and drug screening to participate in some of the core classes. Students are encouraged to include either Spanish or American Sign Language in their elective choices. Once students successfully complete the program, they're qualified to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam.

Collin County Community College District

To participate in this program, prospective students must pass a criminal background check and drug screening, be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, have approved CPR certification and meet immunization standards. Students will also need to participate in a personal interview.

Emergency Medical Technician Training Program

The program consists of 3 courses, including a class in anatomy and physiology. In the EMT-Basic courses, students are provided with the information needed for basic life support pre-hospital care. In the clinical course students participate in a supervised field experience that allows them to apply the skills they've learned in the classroom in a practical setting.

El Centro College

To apply for this program, you must provide proof of current immunizations, a criminal background check, a TB skin test and complete entry examinations with the admission office.

Paramedic Certificate Program

The paramedic program requires 176 class hours (6.5 months) and is offered in 6-week classes that run Monday-Friday. You are also required to complete 3 emergency room hospital rotations which may occur on the weekends. Students must complete a 24-hour hospital rotation in order to receive certification.

Tarrant County College

To enroll in this 2-semester, 18-hour program, students must be at least 18 years old, pass a criminal background check, show proof of current immunizations, pass a drug screening and meet the school's reading, writing and mathematics standards. Students will also need to attend 2 orientation sessions after they're enrolled.

Emergency Medical Technician Training Program

The entire program consists of 2 classes. The EMT-Basic course is a combination of lecture and lab lessons designed to offer students the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for an EMT career. The clinical course allows students to apply their skills in a work-based field experience under the supervision of a clinical professional.
