In less than 40 minutes from downtown Denver, aspiring architects can find training options at the undergraduate and graduate levels. - The University of Colorado Denver is the only school offering architecture programs in Denver proper. The school is located about two miles from the city's center and offers a pre-professional bachelor's degree program in architecture as well as a Master of Architecture.
- Located about 28 miles away from central Denver, the University of Colorado Boulder offers a bachelor's degree program in environmental design with the choice of an emphasis in architecture or landscape architecture. This program is designed to prepare students for professional architectural programs.

University of Colorado Denver
The University of Colorado Denver's College of Architecture and Planning is the only one of its kind in the state of Colorado. It enrolled 382 master's degree students as of Fall 2018, of which 191 were enrolled in the architecture degree program.
Bachelor of Science in Architecture
This bachelor's degree is a pre-professional program that's designed to prepare students for professional Master of Architecture degree programs. The curriculum will include studies in building systems, architectural history, and construction practices. Students will also participate in five different design studios where they can acquire practical experience.
Master of Architecture
Students who complete this professional program may fulfill the education requirements to qualify for the exam to become licensed architects. The program covers design theories, building and design practices, and their relevance today. Enrollees take at least four levels of design studios and four levels of design seminars. They also study environmental control systems, building technology, methods of building construction, architectural history, and the human aspect of design. Studies in professional practice and site planning are also an essential aspect of the degree program.
University of Colorado Boulder
UC Boulder is home to the Program in Environmental Design, which incorporates several different disciplines - including architecture - into the study of design. The Bachelor of Environmental Design (BEnvD) is a preprofessional program, and graduates can go on to pursue a master's degree in architecture in order to become licensed architects. In addition to the bachelor's degree, a minor is available.
Bachelor of Environmental Design
Through this bachelor's degree program, students can pursue an emphasis in architecture, landscape architecture design, planning and urban design or design studies. Students will prepare for this degree through the First-Year Experience (FYE) Program. This program is designed to help acclimate students with a Peer Mentor Program and a toolkit of required studio supplies. The program is very hands-on, and the core coursework includes environmental design theory, design planning, building materials and numerous studio courses. Courses in the architecture specialization include design labs, architectural structures and environmental systems for buildings.
