Laramie County Community College enrolls more than 4,000 students in nearly 70 associate's degree and 24 certificate programs. The Division of Business, Agriculture and Computer Technology offers 2-year degree programs in computer science and computer information systems as well as certificates in programming, computer technician and office applications specialist.

Programmer, Computer Technician and Office Applications Specialist Certificate programs all provide coursework in or relating to computer programming. Topics addressed in these programs could include programming languages, Web authoring and word processing. Any of these certificates can be taken as an area of specialization in the Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems program. The curriculum of that 2-year program includes courses in programming, networking, business and Linux systems. In addition to 20 credit hours in general education courses, students take introductory courses in business, computer science and information management.

The Associate of Applied Science in Computer Science program includes hands-on experience. Requiring 65 credit hours, the program includes general education courses along with calculus and computer science courses. Students can choose to take a programming elective. Graduates should be familiar with computer languages and computer operating systems.
