GateWay Community College

In 1968, Maricopa Technical College opened in a former department store. By 1987, the school had moved to its current location in the GateWay corridor, from which it took its new name. Today, GateWay serves more than 4,600 enrolled students and offers more than 125 degree and certificate programs. GateWay is part of the Maricopa Community Colleges system.

In the area of computer programming and information systems, GateWay offers ten computer information systems, Cisco, and Microsoft networking degree and certificate programs. These programs require completion of anywhere from 16 credits for a certificate up to 64 credits for an associate's degree. Available programming courses include Visual Basic, C, Java, and object-oriented programming, and most programs include classes in operating systems and networks. The associate's degree programs also have general education requirements.
