University of Mobile
The University of Mobile was ranked #1 Best Regional Colleges in the South for Veterans and #5 Best Regional Liberal Arts Colleges in the South by U.S. News and World Report for 2018. This school had 1,885 students and a 13 to 1 student-to-faculty ratio, according to NCES in 2018. Students can pursue associate's, bachelor's or master's degree programs in a variety of areas, including graphic design, social welfare, finance, church ministry, education, music, sport ministry, marine science and psychology. Students wishing to develop their spiritual lives can attend weekly chapel and participate in campus ministries like youth hostel missions, a hands-on city ministry program and volunteer projects in local neighborhoods.
Stillman College
Stillman College is an undergraduate institution that offers bachelor's degree programs for its 628 students (according to NCES in 2016). Students can pursue study in psychology, history, biology, education, English, business and more. The school is a Historically Black College and offers students several different student organizations and clubs, including Greek life, Gold Hearts and Intelligent Black Women. The school also has two men's and women's athletic teams. Students attend chapel and religious-themed presentations every Thursday and are required to take four courses in religious education.
Huntsville Bible College
Huntsville Bible College is a smaller school with 105 undergraduate and 23 graduate students enrolled in 2018, says NCES. Huntsville provides its students with certificate, associate's, bachelor's and master's degree programs in areas like Biblical studies, Christian education, pastoral ministry and mission and evangelism. The school offers a unique peer mentor program for students who are having a hard time adjusting to college life, and mentors work to show mentees how to develop the necessary academic skills needed for success. There is no on-campus housing at Huntsville, but students have a couple ways to get involved on campus by participating in student government or the student counseling program.
Faulkner University
Faulkner University has one of the three ABA-accredited law schools in Alabama. This university also has more than 30 student organizations, 20 intramural sports teams and 10 intercollegiate sports teams for student participation. Students can grow spiritually by attending daily chapel services, Bible classes and campus devotionals, as well as participating in missions trips and community service programs. Faulkner offers associate's, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs in a wide range of areas, including criminal justice, informatics, math, biochemistry, accounting, psychology, education and business. NCES reports that the school had 2,428 undergraduate students and 750 graduate students, as of 2018.
Miles College
Miles College is an undergraduate institution that is also a Historically Black College. The school offers bachelor's degree programs in environmental science, computer information systems, social work, history, education, communications and more. Students can participate in several different religious organizations on campus, including Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, Alpha Omega Fraternity and Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority. Students may also participate in other student organizations and groups like concert and gospel choirs, The Purple Marching Machine (marching band), Student Support Services Club, Press Club, Students in Free Enterprise and Student Government Association. The school had 1,550 students in 2018, according to NCES.
