There are no prerequisites for earning a scrum master certification.

To earn a scrim master certification, you will need to either attend a face to face course with a Certified Scrum Trainer, or receive private coaching from a Certified Agile Coach. You will then need to either complete 14 hours of online training with your Certified Scrum Trainer, 16 hours of Face to Face training with your Certified Scrum Trainer, or complete 25 hours of face to face interaction with your Certified Agile Coach. After completing your course, you will have to accept a licensing agreement and pass a 50 question certification examination. The Examination has a one hour time limit, and requires answering 37 out of the 50 questions correctly to pass. ScrumAlliance has resources for those seeking certification (such as test outlines and training goals) available on their website, as well as information on earning more advanced Scrum certifications.
