Answer:

Senators have many responsibilities and duties they need to attend to. These involve official and unofficial or informal activities. United States senators work in Washington DC, conducting their business within the capitol building in the senate chamber as well as in their personal offices housed in the surrounding buildings. There they write, debate, and vote on legislation. Outside of their federal office senators have separate offices in their home state. Senators visit and speak at various locations around their state to hear from their constituents. Senators may also travel outside the country to conduct fact-finding or goodwill missions abroad. State senators have similar responsibilities including but not limited to writing, debating, and voting on laws, like United States senators. The main difference is state senators work within the individual state senate buildings and surrounding offices. They also travel around the site meeting constituents and some may even travel outside the country.
