When does Southern Methodist University (SMU) release early action decisions?

Students who apply to Southern Methodist University by the November 1 early action deadline will receive an admissions decision around mid-December. While early action is considered to be non-binding, students may consider applying to Southern Methodist University under early decision, which is considered to be binding. This means that if they are admitted under early decision, they will be required to attend as well as withdraw any applications they may have submitted to other colleges or universities. Students who apply by the November 1 early decision deadline 1 will also receive an admissions decision around mid-December. If a student misses the early decision 1 deadline, they can still apply by the January 15 early decision 2 deadline. Students who apply by this date will receive an admissions decision around mid-March. Lastly, students who apply by January 15 regular decision deadline will receive an admissions decision around mid-March.
