Florida State University currently has three academic sessions, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each has their own individual start and end periods.

The current 2021 Spring semester classes started on January 6th. Students could add or drop courses until January 11th. The last day of classes for the 2021 Spring semester is currently scheduled to occur on April 16th.

The Summer 2021 semester classes start date depends on which of the five sections the students has been placed or has opted into. Session A's classes begins on May 10th and ends on July 30th. Session B's classes begin on May 10th and end on June 18th. Session C's classes begin on June 21st and end on July 30th. Session F's classes begin on May 10th and end on July 2nd. Session LW8's classes begin on May 7th and end on July 2nd.

The Fall 2021 semester classes are currently scheduled to start on August 23rd. Students have until August 26th to add or drop courses. The last day of classes for the 2021 Fall semester is currently scheduled for December 3rd.
