Answer:
According to the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), the math placement test, officially titled the ALEKS Placement, Preparation, and Learning (ALEKS PPL) Assessment, tests incoming students on topics ranging from pre-algebra to pre-calculus. As questions are answered, the test is designed to adapt to the student's level of capability. The test is comprised of open-response questions and lasts two and a half hours. Students disappointed with their results can retake the placement test four times times within a calendar year. However, each additional attempt requires a minimum amount of hours reviewing the Prep and Learning module prior to retaking the test. Ultimately, the highest test score will be reviewed. Upon completion of the test, the placement score is valid for 2 years, at which point the test must be retaken.
