Answer:
A Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree is a doctoral degree that allows aspirants to pursue a career as optometrists. To get this degree, aspirants need to go through an undergraduate program and then complete four years of education and training in optometry school. These schools usually require applicants to complete two to four years of undergraduate education to be able to attend an optometry program. Another common requirement is to sit for the Optometry Admission Test (OAT). After fulfilling these requirements, aspirants will be able to attend optometry school, which involves both classroom coursework and clinical training. In these four years, students will take courses such as optics, vision science, contact lenses, sensory processing, vision therapy, and eye diseases. Once they successfully complete the required coursework and clinical training, they will earn an O.D. degree, which makes them eligible for an optometry license in all states of the U.S. Keep in mind that this license is a mandatory requirement across the U.S.
