However, the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and the National Association of Government Contractors (NAGC) are the most prolific ones. These organizations ensure the highest quality standards for their certifications and professionals. They are recognized all over the U.S. and employers tend to prefer professionals that are certified by these agencies. The first organization, the NCMA, offers three certifications: the Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), and the Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM). On the other hand, the NAGC issues the Certified Government Contractor (CGC) credential. Both of these certification institutions have their own requirements for professionals that want to earn one of these certifications. Nevertheless, they are often required to take and pass a certification exam. Depending on the certification level, they may also be required to have a certain amount of work experience and a specific educational background.
