"Pass One" and "Pass Two" are terms used to describe the registration process at the University of California, Davis for undergraduate students. This system is in place to allow all students the opportunity to register for the courses they need the most in a fair way. During each "pass", undergraduate students receive four-hour blocks of appointments. During Pass One, each student is eligible to register for up to 17 units of courses. During Pass Two, they can register for up to 19 more units.
Graduate students are allowed to register for courses any time, as long as registration is open.
Seniors are allowed to register first, followed by juniors, sophomores, and freshmen.
The Registration Freeze begins on the deadline for registration fee payments. This allows the university time to check that timely payments were made and allows students from the waitlist the opportunity to eventually register for their desired classes as spots become available.
